'We moved here in 2017 having originally looked over in Walthamstow – what a nice surprise it was to come to Browning Road – We are part of the Browning Road Conservation Zone which gives it a real sense of community, it kind of feels like a village within Leytonstone. People are really nice and friendly and you can be as involved or uninvolved as you want to – the BARA residents association organises lots of different activities and has a newsletter that fills you in on all the local happenings. When we first came here there was not really a kitchen to speak of, and the lounge and the living room were in a bad state of disrepair – we totally redid everything. All you see, carpets, painting, kitchen, bathroom, the boiler has been put in since 2017. The only part we have not worked on really is the garden. It is a lovely space and a real sun trap, so someone could really make it special.
In regards to the area, the shop and pub opposite are fantastic – I have lost count of the number of times I have bought an emergency birthday card from the shop, and the pub does some great Thai food and pizza of a weekend. There are some great places along the High Road. We love to grab a coffee from Le Petit Corner and the Wild Goose Bakery is fab too. We love the Vietnamese food at MOT, the Birds pub has great Vegan food and the dim sum restaurant Panda is cool too. Having Tesco close by is really practical and at the end of the road in either direction you have Epping Forest or Wanstead flats – we love both.
A lot of time and love has been put into this house, for that reason we are leaving with a heavy heart. Both of us have changed jobs recently and now need to live somewhere which does not require such a commute. We will be selling with no onward chain, as we are purchasing a new built however should any issues arise we would just rent closer to our work'.
